تفاوت print و print_r در زبان پی اچ پی چیست؟

با سلام و خسته نباشید. دوستان به تازگی شروع کردم به یادگرفتم php و یه زمینه ای از C دارم توی برنامه نویسی. الان من دوتا تابع دیدم واسه چاپ کردن:

print();
print_r();

خواستم بدونم فرقشون چیه؟ چه موقع باید از print() و چه موقع باید از تابع print_r() استفاده کرد و چرا؟

و اما print برای چاپ یک رشته به کار میره ، بهتره در عمل ببینید :

print "escaping characters is done \"Like this\".";
